About

The purpose of my photography is to inspire my audience with an appreciation of the beauty and art inherent in our natural world. I find that wildlife – particularly birds – are especially keen conduits of this purpose.  I have been involved with this type of photography since my early 20s. I am influenced by my love and fascination of nature, and also by my grandmother, who was a professional bird photographer in the 1950s and 1960s. The only time I can relax, and slow my brain (it tends to be a hamster on an exercise wheel), is when I am behind my camera and lens; then I find myself in a state of absolute tranquility. If I can get my audience to relax, laugh at my subject’s antics, appreciate the colors and forms, or learn behaviors and traits, then my art has been a success for others. Enjoy!
